Sundays at home are usually slow and lazy. Last Sunday was definitely not one of those Sundays. It began as a typical Sunday but didn't end as one. I didn't wake up early enough to watch "7th Heaven". By the time i awoke,Kak chik had gone for tuition and Hammad was playing computer games. Mak said that our cuzz, Naim would be coming over for lunch (wish i had an aunt in Kuantan to go to for lunch).
That afternoon, ayah finally agreed to let me drive the Estima. Woow. I was jumping for joy and making somersaults inside. I was actually scared to death because the last time i drove was before entering matriculation and that was aeons ago. W e went around Taman U and Desa Skudai, picked kak chik up and bought cendol pulut. Yay, an accomplishment :)
Lunch was delicious. We had ikan pari bakar and air asam, tomyam, kari ikan and mak's special salad.
In the evening, we all went to Pulai Springs. I got to drive the Estima again (lovin' it but it's really a very big car). Ayah and mak played pingpong while kakchik and i went to the gym. It was my first time there. We felt quite awkward since all the other people there were middle-aged guys. Kakchik tried one equipment that was for the latissimus dorsi and a few other muscles i can't remember. The trainer came over and corrected kakchik's method. I was kinda nervous so i tried to make small talk. I asked which equipment could be used to tone the abs (hey, it was the first thing i could think of, and it wouldn't hurt to know).
He asked me to lay down on one of the machines (there were so many and i'm clueless on how to describe them) and showed me how to do it. It was quite hard and painful to do. After doing a few and unable to do more, he then asked kakchik to do it. Then it was my turn again. We did three rounds before he taught another excercise. I was quite surprised when he suddenly focused on us. I was half-hoping he'd leave us so we could continue on our own. Realizing that he was going nowhere, we might as well follow his instructions. He asked us to do a few other excercises. It was hard to believe there were so many different excercises juat for the abs.
Then mak came to the gym and joined us doing the aerobics. The music was blasting in our ears and i couldn't help myself from nodding me head to the beat ;p I had a lot of fun.
*Twenty four hours later, all the vigorous excercise which for me is done once in a blue moon, came to haunt me. I had systemic mylagia. My sternocleidomastoid felt so painful. Moving my head sideways has never ached so much. My deltoid, biceps brachii, triceps, flexors and extensors of the forearm are all aching. The muscles of my lower extremeties are not spared. Getting up from a sitting position is quite a chore. The agony. The pain. Only Allah knows. I should be learning from past experiences, shouldn't i*
A wonderful evening was followed by dinner at Singgahselalu. Again, my first time there. Munibah was so jealous, hihi.
By the time we reached home, i was so tired that i was out like a log by 10.30 pm (by far, the earliest bed time all week :p)
