Misunderstandings

Not too long ago, a friend of mine reminded me that there was something wrong between certain girls of my batch saying that the misunderstanding between us was bloody silly. I couldn't help but agree. Who can turn their backs to the hadeeth that Allah frowns upon those who break the ukhuwwah and do not talk to each other for more than three days. I'd noticed the problem a few months back but didn't know how to solve it. Turning a blind eye to it was the easiest thing to do, especially since i was kept busy with studies and activities.

But during the hols, i had some time to think about it and thought what the heck, i'd ask her what the real issue was. Alhamdulillah, we've sorted it out and now we're friends again. It turns out that she was actually hurt by what one of my girlfriends said or wrote. Considering her circumstances, i'd be hurt too.

I've learnt that bearing grudges is never beneficial. Being forgiving and open-minded can help you go through life happier. Misunderstandings easily occur because two people can intrepret and look at the same thing in different ways. By being honest with each other, you actually find out how wrongly we think because we always assume. It's dangerous to assume. Inna ba'dha zhanni ithm. Easier said than done.
