At home

The time is 1.07am and I’m at home sitting in front of the computer. I’ve just finished writing the editorial note for the catalyst. I dunno whether it’ll be approved or not for publication. Before that i was typing the lyrics of old nasheeds like ‘Lost Identity’, ‘Wahai Mujahid’ and more. I just love nasheeds which i grew up with and kiddy songs and nursery rhymes.

I came back home on Friday evening. I took the afternoon bus and arrived around maghrib. Five hours plus a half an hour break. syahadah and i went on the Konsortium coz’ it’s the only bus that passes Sri Putri. Another bus, Cepat, also passes but it is not as its name suggests. Well, the seats were quite comfortable but since i sat at the rear end, right above the tyres, it was one bumpy ride. I was thrown up and down in my seat a couple of times, disturbing my beauty sleep...hehe.

Along the way, i got a message from cbah. She said that i passed last block’s exams...
alhamdulillah. i was tempted to dance and jiggle due to my excitement but i got the better of meself. I am so happy to even obtain a pass considering my performance on that paper. Well, the five-week wait was worth it.

I’m guessing Chua topped the class again. She’s my petite, genius, debater friend. I asked her a few days ago on the secret of her successive successes, and she said, “One word”. The words ‘hard work’ and ‘study’ came to mind. Little did i guess it was, “Married”. Yep, she got married last year. Her husband’s in IIUM Gombak doing accounting, also a debater. Waaa, I wanna get married too to get distinctions. Hehe...but chua was already topping the class before she wedded so i can’t really follow her footsteps.

Owh, one more thing, just thinking about the Tsunami incident saddens me. Listening to the news and reading the papers on the devastation it caused, makes me tearful. When Allah shows His signs, we must take heed lest we suffer the similar fate, perhaps worse.
