Arrived in kuantan at 3.45 am
Slept back on my lovely bed for another 2 hours
Woke up and had a bath
Class at 9.00- dr. hassan’s zoonosis (realized how much I haven’t studied yet for the second minitest and for the finals)
Then Islamic input was postponed again-I went to print out catalyst but only half coz the machine got stuck
11.30 was prof pakeer’s tuto but it wasn’t long then he showed us a recording of a National Geography episode on venomous animals
I went back to the hostel to do my laundry and had lunch
Practical parasito at 2.00 pm
Went to comp lab and collected the rest of the print outs and surfed the net
Waited for makcik fotostat to come and dealt with her regarding the catalyst publication
At first she was hesitant and didn’t know if she could do exactly as I’d requested but she said she’d try and only then did I realize that one page was wrong so I had to go running to print out another one
Then I went to the library to find sibah but she wasn’t there so I just stayed awhile and read
Went back to the hostel and prepared to go jogging with sibah to taman Bandar
I rearranged my room and then had a bath and cleaned some more
By the time I was done it was isya’ so I quickly started on my memorizations, I’m way behind and lagging compared to the rest
Ate bread
Went to tasmi’
10.45 pm aida sent the published copies of the catalyst, about 70, unfortunately they were of low quality, never again am I gonna photostate there.
Did some more editing with azza
Now, study for tomorrow’s microbio tuto
11.40 pm

25th Jan 2005
I woke up early and prepared for class
1st lecture of the day was Dr Imad’s mumps and measles virus
Then it was supposed to be the tuto but Dr Imad proceeded with another lecture on sterilization and disinfectant
During the break, I took the opportunity to print out the revised catalyst and booked the LCD screen requested by Kakak
After break was supposed to be the Islamic Input on vicegeency by Dr Azmi but he didn’t come
We were just about to go for an early lunch when Dr Azizi came and started the lecture on pharmacological aspects of drug abuse; at least he finished the class early
Then everyone headed for the bus to go to JHC since we had a clinical correlation there
My friends and I that missed the previous practicals because we went to the wintercamp had to do our practical at that time, we didn’thave to do much coz most of the things were already prepared, so we could finish early and join the CC.
We arrived a bit late coz we had to pray first, and the class had already commenced.
The case was of a boy admitted with his chief complaint being dyspnoea, fever, arthralgia.
His condition was due to cardiac failure secondary to infection by beta-hemolytic Streptococcus which caused Rheumatic fever and the systemic symptoms. We could see his heart pumping very fast on the surface of his left upper ribs. He also had hepatomegaly.
After that, as usual we’d all go to Kuantan Parade and do the weekly shopping and replacing the depleted stock of food.
By 5pm we were back at the hostel and I got to rets for a while before cbah came and reminded me of our plan to go to taman Bandar so I quickly got dressed.
The exercise was refreshing but somewhat strenuous to my soles.
We came back by 7 pm and I had this sudden urge to clean the refrigerator then took my bath
There was a kulliyah by prof omar after maghrib so I went
After isya was tajwid class which finished at 11pm then I went to jumpe kakak sharifah for a while
I sorted out my notes and managed to study a bit alhamdulillah.

27th Jan 2005
Today, classes were as usual. Cbah and I were snacking the whole morning with Nips and Smarties and karipap and roti. I was just easily distracted throughout the lecture and couldn’t concentrate much. I was sleepy through Dr Imad’s class, somewhat awake through Dr Tanveer’s adverse effect of drug’s lecture part 1 but fully concentrating on Dr Syed Athif during his lecture on the adverse effect part 2. Maybe because he’s young, energetic and charming…hehe..i wasn’t sleepy at all.
What was really interesting was an incident where this friend of ours whom fainted (again) yesterday got up suddenly and went to the other side of class where she put her bag and took out her water bottle. Yeah, she fainted yesterday, the one who sits in the first row, right under the lecturer’s nose. Sheesh, you’d think people would learn from their mistakes.
Well, today, she didn’t faint but people were worried that she might so many students offered her snacks. We joked about it that if fainting people got such attention and SNACKS, it wasn’t such a bad thing after all…hehe
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Owh, there’s something I’ve been wanting to write about for some time now. It’s about the sad-looking lake I pass everyday on the way to the faculty which never fails to attract my attention each time. Its condition seems sadder as the days go by. Before, it used to be full of water and it was a pretty sight for the eyes. It dried up slowly.
Now it just looks like a swamp with all the algae and grass growing in it. It looks like the eutrophic lake picture I saw when helping ayah with his power point presentation on the classification of lakes in Malaysia. I should take a picture and show it to ayah. (Ayah’s totally backwards in these techno thingy’s coz he has secretaries to do the work for him. I even had to teach him how to use the SMS once…its not that I’m clever in these things but when compared to him, I can be considered a genius…hehe).
Well, back to the lake. I used to love looking at it before and admiring it but now it’s just pathetic. When it was still somewhat full, I used to wonder how deep it was, my guess was that it was actually very shallow, but there was no way to prove whether I was right or wrong at that time. The idea of proving it myself was inconceivable because no way was I going into any still water like that. It could be breeding loads of amoebas and all the other parasites that can cause meningitis. But, now I know for certain. It ain’t deep at all. The on-going construction makes the water shallower. I hope they do something about it. Poor, poor lake.
