meeting Stacey

me and Stacey Naughton at the library

Last nite there was a launching for earthquake victims fund in conjunction with the Eid Gathering which was held at the IMC Kulliyyah.
(hmm, which raya really? methinks its more likely to be raya haji than raya puasa but it couldn't be helped i guess. that was the earliest available date that all four courses could agree at after considering exams and hols)
it was quite a grand celebration. the committee went all out to decorate the whole place with raya adornments and the stage decorations were magnificent with bamboo and stuff.
the whole event actually started at 8pm but most of the students went after isya' or around 9pm because that was the time the food was served (yep, they just went for the food). since the cafes were closed, most students, especially the sisters, had no other option but to go. many girls dressed extra nice for the occasion.
so, i went at 9pm too with aida and asma'. i was really hungry by then and only had food on my mind but we had to wait for a while. then, when the emcee anounced the official invitation to dine, there was an immediate uproar of students getting up to obtain food. there were so many people and asma and i could barely get near the food so we took some pics while waiting. when i finally managed to obtain some food, asma was nowhere to be seen so i ate with my other classmates. there were performances while we were eating and also announcements of the lucky draws. i'm never lucky in these draws.
after i'd had my fill, i went in search of Asma'. that's when i met Stacey. i was wondering where this mat salleh came from and how asma' knew her. apparently, she was asma's friend's classmate in Monash Uni Australia (yeah, they're on holiday now). the three of them; karimah and masdi who were kuantanians and izza from melaka brought her along to the celebration. She was very friendly and sweet. she actually came to malaysia to attend her friend's wedding in KL which is on Chrsitmas day. she said that she went to a wedding in Kelantan which
i took her on a tour of the library which is open on Wednesday nights and then we showed them our hostels. included in the tour was a visit to a seniour's room which resembled a Hello Kitty accessories shop more than a medical student's room. well, to each his own, 'aight?
it was really nice meeting her.
*my friends told me that when i had gone, my number was actually called upon, but they couldn't do anything coz the ticket was with me... hmm, i guess luck has nothing to do with anything. everything's really fated! nevertheless, i wouldn't have traded meeting stacey with the lucky draw prize if things were reversed.
