advice from Umm Bilal during her talk on Ramadhan:
Just ENJOY ramadhan. Don’t count how many rakaats or juz you have done or read. If you are starting to count, then stop. even if you pray two extra rakaat in ramadhan (more than your usual fard) but you enjoy it (physically and spiritually), then it is better for you than praying 8-20 rakaats or finishing the Quran 3-4 times. if you are too tired (mothers frequently are), even reading the same surah the whole day, as long as you enjoy it and take it in and tadabbur, it is better than reading pages and pages of the Quran.
just as i was starting to feel left behind and burdened by the thought of the things that i should have been able to do rather what i have done in this month, these words are a wonderful reminder of how best to approach ramadhan.
aim high and enjoy the ride.
aim high as in listing down all the things i want to achieve and improve and enjoying the ibadah while i'm at it :)

we tend to focus on some people and forget the struggle of others.
